In a shocking development just days before the NBA Western Conference Finals, Dallas Mavericks power forward Anthony Davis has been banned from all basketball activities after testing positive for a banned substance, league officials confirmed Monday morning.
The NBA’s anti-drug program flagged Davis’ test results during routine playoff testing. While the league has not yet disclosed the specific substance, sources close to the situation report it may be a performance-enhancing drug (PED), which could carry a suspension ranging from 25 games to a full season, depending on the final ruling.
