Earlier today, Red Sox Nation was rocked by a major announcement as Boston Red Sox Manager Alex Cora officially submitted his resignation letter.
Sources close to the organization confirm that Cora’s departure is linked to internal disagreements with upper management regarding team strategy, roster decisions, and long-term player development plans. Tensions reportedly escalated in recent weeks following the team’s underwhelming performance and increasing scrutiny from the fanbase.
In a brief statement released to the press, Cora said, “It has been an honor to lead this team, but after careful reflection, I believe it is in the best interest of both myself and the organization to step aside.”
The Red Sox front office has yet to name an interim manager, but an announcement is expected soon.
